Wind, Sand and Stars by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Wind, Sand, and Stars more than all the others is a synthesis of Saint-Exupéry's skill as a writer and his life as a flier. It is a collage of anecdotes, speculations and poetic reflections the earth and its inhabitants as seen from the air, all glued together by one basic them: that the airplane has brought man into confrontation with the elements of the universe, and thus has given him a new perspective on his own nature.
